Breaking the/my "rules" 3 watches; your ideas?
Tried to break Rule 1) The watch I want will always be there some time in the future.. I tried to break that rule today but I was too late on the trigger on this one as the watch was sold asap; but I don't think the H Moser Cie is in high-demand even though the production numbers are tiny. There is no shortage of watches - even the desirable or expensive ones.

Breaking Rule 2: I did however break a personal rule in purchasing a watch that is not in a highly desirable color-way. I picked up the following H08 for $3500. I broke the rule because I saw the value in the price point. I recently passed on a limited edition near twice the price. I was impressed by the limited edition watch in person. A rule is to always see the watch you want to purchase in person. I also broke another rule of mine "small purchases stop me/you from making large purchases - small fish eat bigger fishes"
A rule is to buy the watch with a bracelet and add a strap. The bracelets tend to be expensive to add later.
The H08 has a great movement and a great case even though it is considered "a fashion watch." Buying a fashion watch is against the rules as well.

Rule 3 - Then there is a question of whether or not I would buy the watch below without the box. There would be a bunch of rules breaking in the case of the AP below.

An unspoken rule is that the AP is a budget breaker, it is not among the most desirable models in the brand. Missing the box is (or is not) a big thing? I found a cheaper color way, and more recent models, on "jaztime" but I know nothing about that dealer. A rule is to buy the dealer - and I don't feel like breaking that rule on such a big purchase.
I started collecting Soviet watches from ebay; and my interests in watches evolved as I learned more and more.
