NWD: Seiko "The Great Blue" SND003 (2003)

I have been looking for one of these for about the last 6 months! Finally, a friend who owns a watch shop in Kumamato came across one and sent it in.

"The Great Blue" series came out in the early 2000s with these gorgeous blue starburst dials The SND003 here has the tachymétre beneath the chapter ring printed on the dial and runs on. 7T92, Seiko' good old Chrono workhorse at this point.

The Great Blue series are a good example of Seiko randomness, these aren't JDM, weren't sold in the US and... Not all of them are blue:

Thats right, the SND003 (last on the page) has both a white version (SND001P which still says "The Great Blue" on the dial) and the TV case SND007 which I will continue to hunt down because obviously I need a pair.

Yeah, The Great Blue series went from 2001-2003 only? It's a weird little collection with automatic 3 handers, a kinetic, and the first chronographs to use the 7T92 movement. A really niche collection for sure. Gotta find the TV shaped one!

I have a white faced great blue. Am willing to sell for the right price.
