I'm more than 60 years old, and I haven't completely gotten over my boyhood fascination with airplanes. Even though I'm not a pilot, I can still wear a pilot's watch. This one is not an example of the famous 6B/159 series for the Royal Air Force. It is, instead, a HS↑8 watch issued to pilots (and navigators) of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. Omega's archives show it as delivered to the British Ministry of War on August 20, 1943. It almost certainly saw service in World War 2, but the details are likely lost to history forever. The watch, at least, is not lost, and it is still running perfectly 80 years later.
