The new Longines Spirit Zulu Time Limited Edition for Hodinkee

While I love that they made a few nice tweaks to the standard version: reduced the # of fonts, got rid of the sandwiched logos (especially the controversial 5 stars), and made the whole thing Grade 5 Titanium; I don’t prefer the additional negative space which is now more present, the close proximity to the Black Bay Pro, and the still lacking micro adjustment clasp.

If this came in with a micro adjustable clasp, at 37mm by 12.5mm, it would have me sold in 10 seconds.

Also don’t appreciate the Hodinkee markup 💰

To be fair, that “markup” may have more to do with the upgrade from SS to grade 5 Ti. Notice a Christopherward Twelve goes up by $670 from their SS model to their grade 2 Ti version.

I think it's great at 39mm

Also wish the clasp was tool less and the bracelet had female end links (on the 42mm one as well)

All that said it looks nice and for what you're getting the price isn't awful

For my 7” wrist, I also think 39mm is perfect. Except I am looking for a 37-38mm field or gmt watch to “complete” my collection.

For this reason, I have not pursued either Mark XX or the new Zenith Pilot. I like both of those designs a lot.

I have the 42mm on a 7-7.1 inch wrist. It wears a OK and for me as long as L2L is 50mm or less I'm fine.
