Grovana Uhrenfabrik AG in Tenniken is one of the last three existing watch manufacturers to develop and produce their own wristwatches in the Swiss canton of Basel-Landschaft. In 1924, the brothers Walter and Hans Gröflin from Tenniken founded the Fabrique d'Horlogèrie W. & H. Groeflin, Tenniken/Bâle. In 1970, businessman Werner Bitterli acquired the clock factory, which was now known as Hans Gröflin AG. He changed the company name to Grovana Uhrenfabrik AG. By constructing the mechanical movements in-house, Grovana Uhrenfabrik AG has achieved the status of a manufactory. In 2008 Christopher Bitterli took over the management of the company. Like all Grovana watches, it comes in a wooden watch box and is assembled by hand at the headquarters in Tenniken.
