It all began in a pizzeria. I was getting the usual - two slices and a Coke and the guy serving the pizza was wearing a very unique watch I had never seen before in the metal. The sapphire bezel with red markers glistened in the light beautifully while the deep black textured dial absorbed it. I definitely needed to get a closer look. As he put my two slices on the tray I smiled and said 'nice watch' and he said 'oh' thank you' and proudly stretched out his arm to let me get a gander. With its sculpted cushion case, unique hour markers, and distinct red minute hand - it was a stunner! I also quietly noted the heartbeat 'Ultra-Chron' logo at six o'clock and the handsome black and red Nato strap. That night I went online, bought it and have been using it in my rotation ever since.
Whether you buy new or pre-owned it's a bargain. The U-C is highly resistant to shocks and water pressure and with its high-frequency in-house movement at 10 ticks per second it's super accurate. In fact, the accuracy of the Longines Ultra-Chron is confirmed by its certification as an “ultra chronometer” by TIMELAB, an independent testing laboratory in Geneva. This designation goes beyond the usual “chronometer” certification. It also comes in a beautiful presentation box with a strap changing tool as well.
If you are in the market for the perfect dive watch - this is it. It has the looks, the pedigree, the accuracy and the price. The Ultra-Chron can easily hang with the big boys and punches way above it's weight class. Be different - be Ultra-Chron!

That is a really unique watch and I hope Longines does more with he movement and the Ultra Chron sub brand.
