Seiko 5 7009-3040F

This was my first watch ever. Dad gave it to me, and after I shook it a bit, it started working! That was the moment when I was captured by watches.

The watch was gifted to my dad by my grandfather. No one remembers the year when it was bought, but after some research, I came to the conclusion that it was bought somewhere around 1987. It lines up with Dad's memories of wearing it to school.

It is in rough shape. The crystal is scratched pretty badly, the case has seen better days, and the back has markings that my dad left when he tried to open it. He had a good reason to open it, though. The small gold frame from the date window had fallen, and he managed to open the watch and remove it. Nevertheless, I decided not to restore it. The only thing I did to it is I bought a new bracelet because the old one was lost. It is not worth much, but it has sentimental value, and I want to keep it that way.
