When I select a watch in the morning I typically wear it all day. But today I had an unexpected business meeting for which the Hamilton Khaki Aviation Pioneer I'd originally posted on WRUW was less appropriate than the Bulova Jet Star Precisionist Gold tone on my wrist above. So I'm updating my WRUW with a second post today. The Bullova is a high performance quartz with a sweeping second hand that mimics that of a mechanical watch and claimed accuracy that averages an error less than one minute a year. Over the time I've owned it, the performance is even better than that with an error of less than -1s over the entire six months. I usually prefer mechanical watches, but the Bulova Jet Star has much to recommend it while requiring almost no maintenance beyond changing the date five times a year and occasionally replacing a battery. Gotta run. Off to that meeting.

Bulova hit a Grand slam with the Jet Star. Looks great.

I think that's true. But it begs a question. The Precisionist movement has been around to years. And with the exception of the recently introduced Jet Star collection they've used it mainly in utterly atrocious watches. Monstrosities that would make Invicta proud. (Apologies to Invicta fans.)
