I very nearly bought this exact watch, and still think it's beautiful!
Long story short(ish): In late 2021/early '22 I fell in love with the Sinn 556 family. In Feb I ordered a 556A RS through my local AD, and was expecting about a 3 month wait. I was also cross-shopping the Pro Pilot in blue and in black, but decided narrowly on the Sinn. Fast forward to about a week before my watch was expected, there was a fire in my AD's building and they were pretty much a total loss. Not knowing what would happen (had my watch arrived and been waterlogged? was it still in transit, and if so where would it end up?) I ended up going back to the Oris AD and nearly ordered the blue Pro Pilot, but my partner talked me into waiting until I knew what was up.
In the end, Sinn heard about the fire and actually recalled the shipment they'd sent out and held it and worked with the AD on a plan. And the wonderful folks at my AD found a temporary working space, received the watch, and met me there at a fancy social club. It ended up being a great experience despite some anxiety during the moment. They are great and I would 100% buy from them again (and in fact, my partner picked up a Nomos Tangente 33 Duo from them about 6 months later).
Wrapping up the long story, I really do love the Pro Pilot, except two things: it was slightly large for me at 41mm, and I'm not a fan of 3 o'clock date windows generally. That said, while waiting for my Sinn to arrive, Oris brought out the PPX Calibre 400 and I was immediately smitten. I couldn't justify it then and for a long time after, but I ended up buying one (blue dial) this past October and love it too! Great family of watches from Oris.

Congrats on yours!
Thanks for sharing! I would have definitely chosen the ppx as well if it was released back then its an amazing watch. I am currently checking out the pointer date line up as they feel so timeless to me!
N.B in 2022 I turned 30 so my mother and wife bought this one together as a birthday gift therefore it will always be in my collection.
I agree with you the date window bothers me as well but with the crown it keeps it somehow symmetric.
As for the size I have a 7 inch wrist but a rather wide hand.

Sentimental watches are fantastic! My Sinn actually ended up being a gift from my partner as well, and will also be with me for life.
Yeah the 41mm Pro Pilot works great with a 7" wrist like yours. Mine's a little smaller at about 6.5, so I find the 39mm PPX is about the max I can do, and my 38.5mm Sinn is about perfect.
