Casio GW-M5610U-1ER vs GWM5610-1

Hi guys,

I'm trying to decide which watch to get. The 5610U as far as I can tell, has the LED lights and the ability to have the date mm/dd or dd/mm, and shows the time in the top right corner when stopwatch or timer is running. Are those the only differences? I can get the 5610U for $167 CAD but have to wait 7-10 days for shipping from Amazon. If I get the 5610, it's $148 CAD and it can arrive tomorrow 😮 what do you guys think? Is the 5610U worth it? I've read that the LED lights last longer, but the EL light might get weaker over time?

Thank you!

I think there are a couple of other very minor differences, but essentially it’s what you mentioned. All depends how much those things matter to you. The 5610u is the upgraded module, so they’ve fixed things from the previous. I think it’s worth waiting a few days for. I have the 5610u btw 👍

Gotcha. I think you're right. 5610U is the way to go. Those changes don't make any difference to me, but for the extra $20, and the latest module, it makes sense. Thanks! 👍

Oooh... I think the one for $148 is actually a 5610U as well. Trying to confirm 100% with the seller on Amazon, but so far from the reviews a lot of people mentioned they received the 5610U model with LED light instead of the EL light. Technically speaking I don't think you can buy the EL version brand new anymore. I've asked the question on Amazon and couple customers answered saying they got the updated version. If that's the case, $148 is not bad esepcially since this is still my work gift card from Xmas! Having said that, it's ordered! Should be here tomorrow! 😀
