It really comes close… I wanted the original too but after my horrible experience with GS I probably won‘t buy another one for a while.

My inhibition about GS is it getting scratched and the Japan-only service. Until I can ‘get over that,’ I probably won’t make it a priority. Makes the Seestern a temporary fix choice for me.

That is exactly what was my issue. I bought the white birch brand new and it had numerous problems right away. They sent it in for service and it was gone for more than 6 months, they couldn‘t tell me anything and after it came back it had scratches and the issues weren‘t fixed properly… Really scared me off of buying another GS at that price
