I’ve been buy $500 sub watches mostly Seiko. I’ve been looking at second hand Grand Seiko or a 39 mm Tudor. Any thoughts or insights?

Buy used, prepare to be underwhelmed.

Got my first luxury watch, my Grail SM300 3 years ago for £3500, previously I'd only spent £7-800.

Was expecting it to make women flock to me and it grant me superhuman powers or something special 🤣

So was initially disappointed that it was just a watch & my non-watch friends seemed more impressed with my old Seiko's..

But give it time and the quality shines through and I now absolutely love it.

Guess what I'm saying is be aware of the law of diminishing returns and quality can be subtle.

You can get both GS and Tudor under $3k gently used. Highly recommend both!

I would also look into Longines' catalogue. Something may catch your eyes.
