My first manual watch experience.

Hey crunchers.

So I have always put off owning a manual wind watch because of its “inconvenience “.

But honestly it’s been fantastic and not to mention the strap monster that is the speedy master.

I love winding it, as it has such a satisfying sound and being nodate makes it supremely easy to live it in my rotation.

So, the question.

For the manual winding with date, especially what are people’s preference? Especially for the movements with no quick set (i.e. travellers gmt jumping hour)

I can imagine it would take a while to get it all set if you have a few watches in rotation.

Or

Do you prefer nodate/quick set for your manual winds

Thanks!

I love manual wind watches. I agree most have a very satisfying clicking sound/feel when winding, and the morning wind up is part of the routine. They usually have thinner cases too. If you haven't worn an automatic in a while you need to wind it a bit anyway to get it started. I prefer a date on most watches, manual and automatic. It has never been a bother to me to have to set the date.

It looks so good! We like to baby our watches so us enthusiasts find the time to wind our instruments.

One of hte best things about manuals is there's no rotor in the way so you can see the entire movement in all its glory (if there's an open caseback).
