Bulgari wrap-up

It feels a bit mean to describe the first two models as from the ‘standard octo finissimo range’ after all the limited run pieces I shared previously.

They’re such nice watches though. A comment on the earlier post mentioned how Bulgari can sort of drift out of mind, but when see one, they look amazing all over again.

I’d take the titanium. I love the monochrome look with the small seconds. The micro rotor movement on these is beautifully arranged. Thought I’d throw in a bonus movement shot for the Malachite Octo yesterday.

The Serpenti line ticks so many boxes for me. It’s not something I’d wear but it’s one of the coolest watches I’ve ever seen. They’re a statement piece for sure but I can’t ever see it getting old or tired as a part of regular rotation. The way it just screams confidence on the wrist and demands you wrestle back wearing the watch, before it wears you. “If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.”

I’ve thrown in a bonus watch from a friend in attendance. He secured this Fears & Christopher Ward collaboration last year, made for the British Alliance of Watchmakers day. It has a jump hour movement and beautifully finished dial. On these days, British brands make small runs of British Watchmakers editions that can only be bought there on the day. There’ll be a limited Bel Canto from them on the day this year and a very special Roger Smith. The event is sold out, but the Watch Collectors Club is hosting an after party across the road at The Royal Oak pub afterwards. All welcome!
