Scammed by Captain Ramses

Although I'm extremely embarrassed to admit, I needed to shed some light on the fact that I got scammed. here's the link to the sale, he just posted again 5 days ago so I wanted to bring this matter to light.

I consider myself a savvy buyer, but a momentary lapse in judgement led me to sending the person from the post a zelle, and then losing all communication. It was a good sum of money that I won't be able to get back, but I'm considering it a very expensive lesson learned.

Looking back, I handled this transaction terribly and with too much trust. I've had smooth transactions with other enthusiasts and was hoping this would go just as well.

If anyone has any questions or any advice how to go about this I'm all ears. In the meantime, keep your wits about you.

Happy  holidays, watch fam!

I would still report the transaction to your bank as fraudulent, if you haven't done so already. You are right, chances of recovering funds from a Zelle transaction are slim, but any reputable bank will investigate. I would also report this to Zelle. (Again, you may have done the above already.)

Sadly, Zelle transactions are currently responsible for a sizable chunk of fraud in retail banking. That's for posting this as a reminder.

I reported to my bank and zelle as well. Not much else I can do for recourse.

Happy to be a reminder to potential buyers out there.
