DS Action Diver 60th Anniversary review
Warning ⛔️ this a biased owner review after 2yrs on the wrist (weekly).
Purchased online without having tried one on - we don’t have Certina ADs in 🇦🇺
At 43mm the Double Security (DS) Action Diver’s a bit bigger than the 40mm I prefer, but I think it wears well. The sapphire crystal, black dial with circle & triangular indexes & turquoise second hand, still looks in showroom condition.
For me, it’s a nod to the Submariner. Whilst not suggesting it’s in the same league, it is a tenth of the price and tremendous value.
316L stainless steel with nice crown & guards. 60 click aluminium bezel feels slightly stiff, but better than my seamaster.
300m water resistance & ISO 6425. Rubber strap with metal dive extension/ micro-adjustment, is my preference over bracelet - for my usage.
This one was a 60th Anniversary edition with the Sea Turtle Conservancy logo on the case back. It came with a turtle shell shaped plastic case. Nice to look at but feels fragile.
Super luminova is ok. Powermatic 80.111 movement & date at 3 o’clock.
overall it’s one of my absolute favourites to wear & makes me smile to look at.
Bear in mind my ratings are based on personal enjoyment with price a consideration.
Although I could easily give 5’s (fellow Certina owners are possibly biased like me) am judging to allow upwards movement on possible future reviews. 😀
