Traska Venturer Vs Longines Spirit Zulu time

Hey Watch fam,

I want to downsize my collection and go to a 3-watch collection model and add a “Sporty GMT” as my “Sports” watch. But while I was looking for options, I was stuck with the ultimate “Luxury” vs “Microbrand” conundrum. I think the two watches that I finally settled on are the Traska Venturer GMT and the Longines Spirit Zulu time in 39mm.

I know that consensus is usually around ‘What feels better on the wrist’ but since there are no physical stores for Traska, I wont be able to try that watch on. So the question is, have you tried both? What would you suggest I should go for? Is the Longines worth the 3.5x money over the Traska?

Any particular reasoning behind it?

Ugh too hard. Do you like Arabics and an external GMT Bezel or indices and an internal GMT bezel?

I guess design wise, they both have their charm. The longines has the “Spirit” DNA, while the traska has the datejust vibes. I do lean more towards the traska simply because of their hardening treatment. Not having to deal with scratches is a big win for me.

Also I feel that watches over a $1000 for me is a bit iffy, got into an Omega recently and I fear scratching its case so much that I only take it out when going for something special (weddings and such).

I'll say I'm actually probably going to get both 🫡

If I wanted the Traksa I wouldn't need to try it on. There are some good YouTube reviews and the watch is quality 39mm it's really insane what you get for under $800, I'm thinking of buying one today

Exactly what I feel. There’s a reason why they fly off the shelves the way they do! Are you seeing any restocks on their website or are you going Used?

I'm trying to buy one of the website, none in stock. But I didn't realize that until I had made up my mind that I wanted one.

Bought one in green for $595. It's less than a year old, it came up on eBay today, and I pulled the trigger. BTW, it's immaculate.

I’m not the most unbiased being I own two Traska watches. But I will say that I love them very much.

I bought two Traska watches this way and with them being hardened they seem as good as new.
