What should the next round of upgrades be?

I decided a year ago to upgrade my two Timex watches that I've been wearing for 5 years. I wanted to swap each one for a higher quality watch that I couldn't hear tick from feet away. Ironically the first upgrade was the Weekender --> DIY watch club mosel which has a Miyota movement with an audible rotor. However that happens infrequently instead of every second. I distinctly remember seeing A Quiet Place in theaters with the Weekender on and feeling as if everyone, even in the dark, knew exactly what I was wearing 😅. The second upgrade was last month via the Expedition --> Glycine Combat Quartz which is only audible when pressed against the ear. So over all a win... Now that I have them all side by side I see that my taste haven't changed all that much.

I plan to enjoy all of these for awhile longer, (I still don't see myself as a collector so much as an over-educated consumer) but for fun, what pair of watches would you propose for a future round of upgrades?

Not a serious question just sticking with the theme. A quartz tool watch and a dress(ish) watch. Like if I won the lottery tomorrow I think the next round of upgrades would be the Grand Seiko Omiwatari and a Marathon TSAR.

The glycine is good but I would have gone for the automatic, then it doesn't need upgrading. What budget are you looking for? You could add a sport/field watch to bridge the two watches you already have. If it was me, then any watch I have that is quartz needs to be solar (or kinetic)

Marathon GSAR and Hamilton Murph or Intra Matic

Solar would've been an improvement, but would have lost that beautiful dial color depth. I do like to have quartz for my tool watch. I don't have to worry about it so much. I know mechanical watches have won wars and all that, but for me quartz = no worries. Not worried about accuracy, not worried about shock or magnetism, and at that price I'm not worried about replacing it either 😅.

I'm actually the opposite. I wear divers/tool watches all the time so I have automatic divers and would go quartz for dressier pieces.

Why is it that you prefer quartz for dress watches? Thinness?

Solar quartz or mechanical for being thin mostly. To be more accurate I have automatic for watches I wear mostly, solar for a grab and go occasional wear watch and mechanical for dress watch.
