Seiko PADI tuna LE crystal change.

My padi tuna le is one of my fav watches, when I first got it I changed the hardlex crystal for a sapphire with blue ar coating. I was never happy with it and funnily enough all the blue reflections you'd get. So I've finally decided to change back to clear sapphire double domed with no ar coating, and I'm very happy the dial is alot clearer and also lume brighter. I'm no watchmaker but I don't mind having a go at the the more simple jobs. Fallen in love with the tuna again 👍first picture is finished job last picture is start of the crystal change.

makes a lot of sense. Always hear blue AR discussed as an upgrade, so appreciate you sharing honest experience with it. Also glad to see some watch mod stuff on here!

Thanks, yeh im not sure colored ar is an upgrade but I also suspect it depends where you buy crystal from and the quality. Funnily I got all mine from crystal times who seemed very popular with watch modders. I've removed all my colored ar crystals from my watches and to be honest I thought the quality was average at best, the clear crystal I got for my tuna came off aliexpress so wasn't expecting anything special but was pleasantly surprised as its better than crystal times one and fits better 👍 goes to show don't always follow the crowd their not always right.
