My Mom is still at it.
Dad was a bit of a pack rat. In his last few years he had dementia. Not bad at first but it kept progressing as these things do.
Mom wanted me to have all the watch stuff (junk and all) since my brother's have zero interest in horology.
A few weeks ago she said she was still finding odd things in odd places. Since the subject came up I asked her to keep any eye out for a beat up Girard Perregaux High Beat/High Frequency watch.
A few weeks later and she's up to 5 watches for her now. That's a collection in anyone's book. I might have to send her an invite to WatchCrunch.
The crazy thing is that Kmart (a discount retailer) was selling mechanical watches as late as 1995.
She sends me daily updates even though I tell her not to worry and the GP will turn up all on it's own when she least expects it. But she is on a mission and keeps the search going.
