Many years of grime🤮 (trust me, there is a bracelet in the first picture)
I was restoring my first Leijona that I got from my parents in mid 90's.
I wore this watch in my school days from about -94 to -00.
The clasp broke and it was left in the drawer for many years.
Last week I opened it to see if it would still work with a new battery. The case back was heavily stuck (I had to open it in a bench). And there was grime everywhere. I had to scrape it off with a tooth pick.
Then I put the bracelet in a ultrasonic cleaner and the amount of shite that came out was disgusting. I've cleaned a lot of car parts in a ultrasonic cleaner, but this was 🤢
Here's the watch with a temporary rubber strap until I fix the original bracelet.
Total petrol head. I restore old classic cars for living. I think that classic cars and watches go perfectly hand to hand.
