New watch - The Time Eater (Louis Erard X Konstantin Chaykin)

Greetings, everyone! I'm thrilled to introduce you to my latest addition. Whether it draws admiration or not, one thing is certain: I'm counting on this timepiece to start conversations when worn in the future.

Now, let's dive into the watch itself. With a bold 42mm case size, this timepiece commands attention on your wrist. Its strap showcases a captivating duality, featuring black toad leather on the visible side of the strap and a gentle green rabbit leather lining against your skin. Powering this watch is the dependable Sellita SW266-1 movement, a comparable choice in watches within a similar price range. But let's shift our focus away from the technicalities and delve into the heart of why I chose to make it mine—the character it embodies.

It's these unconventional timepieces that truly resonate with me—timepieces that appear to spring from the creative depths of a master watchmaker's imagination, brought to life through daring thought experiments. Konstantin Chaykin, a celebrated watchmaker, has breathed life into this distinctive creation. I feel fortunate to have it join my collection. While it may fall into the category of "fun" watches, its undeniable quality shines through.

The decision to pick it over the Behrens x Chaykin Joker was a tough one, but I'm content with my choice. Not only did it save me money, but it also captures the same spirit as its older sibling. In fact, if you look closely, this watch carries a special significance.

Significance I found as I gazed at the one-eyed beast's mouth, or rather, the seconds hand, it served as a poignant reminder of a fundamental truth. These watches transcend mere timekeeping; they measure our most precious resource—time itself. This particular watch doesn't just display time; it appears to consume it with its toothy mouth. Since time can never be reclaimed, it stands as a constant reminder to seize the day, cherish the unfolding moments, and make the most of our most invaluable asset in life

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. It also flips you the bird if you look close enough at the minute hand. 😀

Oh for sure. They have a great lineup. I am a fan of the crazy hands watch they sell but the collections seem to sell out quite quickly.
