Gifted to me by my uncle after he saw me show a brief interest in the watch he was wearing one day (it was a Tudor black bay chrono). He forgot to get it resealed after changing the battery before gifting me it.
This unfortunately resulted in me going on holiday and jumping in a pool with it on my wrist after seeing the "100M" on the dial. The watch completely filled up and there were no shops nearby I could get it drained as I was in Spain. By time I was back the movement was completely destroyed along with the rest of the watch. I have spared you those pictures as they're quite gruesome.
I thank this watch for introducing me to the feeling of glancing at your wrist and expenriencing a slight rush of endorphans And for giving me the passion of watch collecting. Please feel free to share any similar stories in the comments

He shouldn't have had to get anything resealed. The person that handled the battery swap probably pinched the o-ring, didn't place it right, or didn't tighten the case back properly.
