November 15, 2023 marks the first anniversary of Elka Watch Co. -

An event that deserves a retrospective on all the successes (and challenges) we've had the pleasure of meeting.A year, not counting the creation of the business plan, the launch of the Kickstarter, and all the deliveries that followed. A year during which we were able to promote ourselves through nine points of sale in Switzerland, not to mention those opened in Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam and Ulm in Europe. Our products are also available from a number of online sites around the world. A promising start, although the brand could do with more visibility. It's undeniably exhilarating to be able to create and develop your own product, your own company, in your own image, according to your own vision. There are extraordinary days and more difficult days; a real emotional lift every moment of the day, week and month. Sometimes our visibility is raised by an article in a magazine or blog, or by the sale of one or more watches in a single day. Just behind that, we could face with stagnant sales for several days. We've learnt a lot from this emotional year; it's crucial to be present on social networks, to attend trade shows (and there are more and more of them, so it's important to choose the most relevant ones and learn from your experiences). Sometimes it's necessary to review the brand's strategy. Should the product be changed? Should the range be expanded? How can we improve it? How can we increase our visibility? How can we convince more points of sale to adopt our brand? So many questions. Nor should we forget that competition is fierce, not only with established brands, but also with a multitude of independent microbrands. To succeed and break through, it is essential to have a physical presence in points of sale to ensure visibility. For most buyers of watches and other luxury products, human contact, touch and understanding of the product are still and will be important elements for a long time to come. When you launch a brand on your own, you have to forget everything you have learned from the big brands. You don't have the same budgets or the same number of people at your disposal. You have to manage everything: from design to logistics, marketing, visual design and sales. It's a phenomenal apprenticeship, which will never cease to surprize you at every turn - and you'll amaze yourself at every turn too, with your ability to rise to every challenge. All in all, it's a pure joy to be able to be yourself. To be able to argue for a product, an approach, a communication that's all your own. To be able to choose where, when and how to do things. This is the very essence of Elka Watch co and we can't wait to see what the future holds. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
