Circa 1960 Girard Perregaux "Gyromatic." I bought this twenty years ago as an example from the "Jewel Count Wars" marketing departments cooked up in the late 50s. This model has the GP caliber 21-19, a 39-jewel movement, basically a Peseux handwind with a GP automatic bridge and rotor for 25 jewels, plus 14 "gyrotron" jewels as rotor bearings. At least all the jewels had a "real" function, unlike some infamous examples like the Waltham 100-jewel wonder! I like this example for the solid 18k gold cap (which I think the industry should re-introduce, along with gold-fill) and funky dial. Having been re-infected with the watch bug recently, abetted by WatchCrunch, will attempt to post a watch a day of my ~50 watch collection of mostly vintage wristwatches. Cheers!
