Watching the film ‘Ferrari’

Hello and thank you for allowing me into your forum.

After I left the cinema I happened to walk past some Rolex / Omega / Longines dealers. I noticed the contrast in styles to the simple watches in the film: many in the shop were big and shiny, often black. In the film all watches appeared to have a white dial. No chronos. No divers.

I mused that this was just like the difference in car sizes between 1956 and the present day. We have gained a lot - that’s obvious - but I wonder if perhaps we have lost in charm and style.

I noticed that one minor character (Fiat’s Agnelli, I think) wore his watch outside his shirt cuff. Not a style I had seen before.

I enjoyed the film. 1956 Modena - what’s not to like? And Enzo drives a Peugeot - just as I do. But still I wonder - what watch did he wear?

Thank you for reading.

Welcome.

In real life, Enzo wore a Rolex chrono. Universal Geneve is the best guess I’ve seen for what Adam Driver wore in the movie.
