Last Call before eSteel.

Got this piece almost 2 years ago when Panerai starts to preach about their eSteel and all sort of green initiatives.

It was just in time for me to get a taste about last era Panerai, normal steel, wooden watch box (although box didn’t see daylight till now), those are some of the charms about Panerai.

I have nothing against renewable, recycle or in this case eSteel. I am just a late adopter, usually I will wait for 2nd to 3rd phase/cycle of the new product, material being introduced.

IMO, what Panerai lacks now is transparency, eg, I don’t know what exactly I was getting until I bought it or have to find out the watch features in boutique or AD, i bought it from AD and usually AD doesn’t stock the full range.

Eg for this watch is, I was prepared for none hacking second hand, but turned out, it hacks (woohoo) tho not deal breaker.

For the PAM1226 using P900 movement, I was expecting it hacks but it doesn’t, some video I saw in YouTube it hacks.

Maybe there are some complications in production line or batches of stocks from Valfleurier are inconsistent?

But it doesn’t make sense because IWC gives precise details about their Valfleurier movements.

At this price range, would expect Panerai be more precise about specifications on website.

Despite all that, the time keeping is precise from this P5000 movement.
