Ultrasonic cleaner
Got this battery operated ultrasonic cleaner from AliExpress for US$3.60 shipped and it’s a godsend!
Used it to clean my vintage watch bracelets. 40/50 years of gunk removed in 30 minutes (3 x 10min sessions) with a quick scrub with a toothbrush in clean water between each session. It’s small and fits one bracelet at a time.
Remember only to use this on the bracelets and not put your whole watch in!

I do put my watches in there, cold water and very little cleaner... Make sure the crown 👑 is screwed in tight twice and read the back case or dial for water resistance. Cheers 🥂

I recommend this for anybody who is getting a rash from a bracelet. Yes, it could be sensitivity to the nickel in stainless steel, but it could also just be gunk.
The gunk might not even be from you. I once broke out after putting on an aftermarket bracelet for a Seiko. Cleaning the bracelet and wearing watches on rubber straps for a few days solved my problem.

I didn’t take photos. The bracelet looked pretty clean from a distance, but you could see the gunk where the edges met and it made my wrist feel a little itchy. I should have taken pics of the gunk that came out. 😅

I have cleaned watch cases in the ultrasonic along with straps, here’s a few photos of before and after gunk removal on a throwaway that I rescued!
As a general don’t put your complete working watches/ movements in there!
