Tissot Seastar 1000 36mm

Hi all,

I am hoping someone has, or has hands on the TISSOT SEASTAR 1000 36MM...

I have seen it at a good price online and its a gift for my brother, who has a smaller wrist. Its Swiss of course so that appeals and has a high-accuracy quartz Precidrive movement. I like high accuracy quartz myself so if anyone has any experience with the movement would be helpful. My only issue is that every video I have seen the second hand not hitting the markers, but not sure if that's a video angle thing as nobody seems to mention it !

Hope someone out there but general thoughts anyway.

Thanks in advance !

My wife has it and she loves it...we both feel like it punches way above it's price point

I've been on a smaller watch bender over the last 12 months and have had one for around 8 months and until my most recent purchase was my go to daily - no issues with mine hitting the markers although ultimately as you've seen in videos your milage may vary (if I wanted to be ultra pedantic then between 12 and 1 it might be a microscopic amount off). Way better in the flesh this model as well. I'm sure your brother will love it.

Don't buy it.

It looks ridiculous on a male wrist.

I've tryed it at my AD, because I have small wrists too (16cm). But nevertheless we qre Men. There are so many factors more than only the wrist size. But we are more than just a close up wrist shot on IG.

A good AD has a whole bodysize mirror. So you can really see how it fits.

And I can tell you, that this watch will look kike a toy on his wrist.

I thought the 43mm of the seastar would be to big for me. But it fits actually quite well into my appearence.

Anyway even if your brother is smaller in size he could go easily for divers with small lugs up to 41 or 42 in diameter. For example the Hamilton Khaki Navi Scuba Quartz.

But don't buy him a ladies watch.

The second hand hitting the markets are always off in the videos, it is due to the angles. Nothing to worry about there. It's a nice watch for the price, but do mind the lug to lug to only 41mm so it can also be slightly small for a dive watch. You can also check out the Seiko mini tuna SUT403, 38mm watch with 40.5mm lug to lug, it has solar quartz movement so better in long term. Or also there is the SRPF81, with automatic movement and only measures 44mm lug to lug. They also cost around the same as Tissot Seastar 36mm.

I'm somewhat with @Uhrologe (That nick triggers me every time.) The PRX is a more dressy watch without a bezel, so it is not that much out of the ordinary. I would strongly suggest looking at yourself in a mirror if in doubt. It works the other way with a large watch, too. A watch may seem fine when just looking at your wrist. Seeing it as part of a whole outfit is a different story.

Right on, the 35mm quartz PRX is brilliant.

Dang I think I'm falling in love with these Seastar's. The blue dial is amazing and I love the date window at the 6 position!
