It’s race day and ahead of today’s Spanish Grand Prix, I thought it would be nice to discuss the watches of Formula 1.
Formula 1 and cutting edge horology have always been a marriage made in heaven.
From the early days of Heuer’s legendary chronographs, and the development ACIT system, to the modern era of onboard computing and lucrative sponsorship deals with luxury watch brands. F1 and timekeeping were and remain intrinsically linked.
So what is or was your favourite watch associated with Formula 1 or racing in general?

Apart from a G-Shock, what else would survive being worn in an F1 car? Everything else would just rattle to pieces, especially with the porpoising now.

maybe not as of late because they recently banned jewelry on drivers during the race iirc

I can guess that at a point counting grams on the drivers person wasn’t being obsessively calculated by the engineers, and that the driver might actually have had use for timing themself.
I am seriously lusting after this Straton Comp Driver.
I really liked the IWC in the Petronas colors this year. I know a lot of the RM's in the paddock are on loan and drivers are required to wear them during post race pressers and at events just like their hats and sunglasses although the latter 2 are not usually loaners. I was glad to see Casio Edifice was back on the grid this year....

While half of the F 1 field is walking around the paddock with an RM strapped to their wrist these guys are wearing a cool Citizen. Now I loves me some Citizen but it's just not fair
