Grand Seiko SLGA007 is almost perfect

The Grand Seiko SLGA007 is a limited edition, but that’s not why I’m excited about it. It’s the new 5-day Spring Drive movement (with Power Reserve Indicator visible on the back) along with the new styled case and that lovely dial that sold me on it.

So I said almost perfect. What would I change?  Honestly, not much. I would prefer the lug width be 20mm instead of 22mm, with slightly more taper. Would love a little bit of micro adjust in the bracelet, but it fits well using the normal “two half links is longer than a full link” Joe Kirk trick.

Looking forward to more releases (non-limited) in this new case and movement combination for all to enjoy.

What do you think of the SLGA007?

I really like it! And I honestly like the thick bracelet too since I have a larger wrist.

As much as I love it, I think it's the second best watch release of the year. Second to, another GS of course lol, the white birch. It's hard to say what it is, but the dial and movement decoration on the birch just do it for me a little more. That movement is so damn sexy 🥰

Both watches are still huge winners though. Winning either way!

Totally agreed both are excellent! The white birch is on my list for sure!

I've  been enjoying mine past a week and I'm happy with my purchase for sure. I also own the 60th Anniversary 2020 release SLGH003 , both have the S9 case and new movements.

i dig the new S9 case design along the 44GS which I adore. The Minamo and 60th Anniversary have small differences that can go unnoticed if you don’t have them side by side. The 60th crystal sits a bit taller and so the chamfer edge is apparent, the brushed mid-case is wee thinner, between the lugs are slightly different and the bezel is wider on the 60thand finally obviously different crowns to distinguish the two Mechanical from SD where the Minamo had a longer squared deeply embossed crown.
