Opinions Wanted - Ciga Z Series

watch friends.  i’m interested in getting the Ciga Design Z Series.  in the past, it appears the price differential between steel and titanium was negligible.  now its $259 vs &379.  i like the Ti color a little more and like the idea of lighter weight, but not sure i like it to the tune of 50% more cost.  curious if folks in this group have experience with these pieces and would offer insights.  thanks! -zog

I own the stainless version, and I have never handled the titanium version. My stainless version weighs 92 grams on the rubber strap. It's certainly not a heavy watch. I would think the only reasons to pay a premium for the titanium version would be (a) you are allergic to stainless steel or (b) you REALLY value the color and/or the cool factor of titanium. On the flip side, it seems unlikely that you will be able to service or repair the movement and it is an "of the moment" watch that may not be appear dated in a few years (depending on the design direction taken by the companies making the watches that inspired the Z-Series.) If I were buying again, I would buy the stainless steel version again, especially at a $120 price difference. Also, I probably would not have purchased the stainless steel version at $259. I think these are fun watches at $200 or less, but the further from $200 they get, the more difficult it is for me to justify what I believe to be a novelty watch.

Amazon has a coupon for $40 off the price of the stainless model or 15 percent off the titanium model right now. I don't know how long it's valid.

Stainless ($210 after coupon)
