What's your favorite watch from A. Lange & Söhne?

As I consider all the possibilities of a grail watch, I often lean towards many of the fantastic pieces from A. Lange & Söhne. So well-crafted, such high horology, so beautiful. What do you think? What's your favorite watch from this classic German brand?

They are all amazing - I’d have any, but I have simple tastes so I’d be happy to “settle” for a saxonia 😜

I've gone for D, very few watches have me questioning which side of the watch is better looking but this does. Shame about the size though.

·

That's another spectacular timepiece! That dial is out of this world!

·

The less weird looking symmetrical one is the only one I might risk keeping if I somehow stumbled upon it.

The Oddyseus is oddly one of the very few luxo sport watches that i find alluring.

·

As a watch I might regularly wear it would be the Odysseus.

As a watch to feel special with: Das Zeitwerk, though that transgresses the feeling ever so slightly from "ooh, I feel special" to "Ohh, I'm not worthy".

C. Cuz the dial reminds me of a cartoon octopus face…

Those are all great watches. But man, I have trouble enjoying a watch that makes the main time telling part of the watch into a sub dial.  I just feel like a watch should do the main thing of telling time first, then get fancy around it. And that last one…just too much for me.

This is a hard choice! I went for the Lange 1 as I have a friend with one an its truly a stunner on the wrist.

My thoughts exactly!

Zeitwerk.  In the before times, when I used to go to office in the city, there was a AD next door to my building.  I was friendly with the Director, and would pop in fairly often to fiddle with stuff. The Langes were beautifully executed, but really clinical.  Not really my thing.  The Germanic aesthetic seems to work better for me at lower price points (e.g., Sinn or Nomos).

That aventurine dial is stunning in person.

Magnificent!

I got close to pulling the trigger and believe me, the picture doesn't do it justice!

B but I dislike Lang's designs in general.

·

1815 Up and Down 39mm. Working towards it.

·

Absolutely Zeitwerk!!! That would be my grail watch. But I would save up for a more “affordable”(relatively speaking🤣) 1815.

I'd have to say Zeitwerk -- there's something undeniably cool about the digital time instantly flipping over when the analog seconds hand hits :00.

I voted for the Lange 1 1994 because well, first, I was born in 1994 hahaha, and I think it's the best in terms of overall versatility. Also, I think the Lange 1 is Lange's signature watch model
