Which is a better movement the Valjoux 7753 or the Eta 2894?

If you were building your own chronograph which movement would you use if you had to pick an off the shelf chrono?

Which is a better movement the Valjoux 7753 or the Eta 2894?

ETA 2824 is thinner. Valjoux 7750's rotor is noisier but i love the sound haha

The ETA 2824 is not a Chronograph so out of the choice it would only be the 7753.

Did you mean the ETA 2894?

I‘d probably consider the A07.211 as well:

Hey I meant the 2894 that was a brain fart...

I really like the Valjoux - Own 2 watches with them and recommend the max bill.  Its a heavy movement.  you really feel it when it moves and can hear it as well.  Its something that other watches just dont do which is be that - haughty enough to move around on your wrist when the rotor is spinning.

Having said that the chronograph component is less than perfect but also part of the character.  its accurate enough just tends to jump around a bit.

Still recommend it - its like buying a car not because of the interior but because the engine is funky.

The only place i found chrono cases was on Aliexpress and they are usually Datona ones.

I am probably in the minority but I definitely prefer the 2894 with the dubois depraz module.  I've owned probably half a dozen of the 7750 variants and they've never stuck. Mostly I find them entirely too chunky and too noisy.

The 2894 is much more expensive to service (though I've had good luck with my roadster over the years) but the package ends up being a lot more elegant in my opinion.  A 12-13mm Chrono vs a 14-16mm makes a big difference on my wrist.

One man's opinion.

Can you recommend a watch with this movement.

Thanks.
