What’s your 2022 watch-goal?🤔

After the Doxa Sub300t my pockets will be empty for quite some time, unless I sell something. What are you aiming for this year? Are you waiting for new releases or do you already have some goals?

I am eagerly awaiting the updated Christopher Ward C65, due out in April I believe.

·

I'm in the same boat.....I have a list but no watch money unless I sell.

I would need to move my Speedmaster, Admiralty and probably my Kermit to fund the next handful of pieces on the list. PloProf is untouchable for now.

or go with the nuclear option and just try to consolidate into one or two watches and see how it goes.

to answer the question specifically I'm waiting to see if Tudor releases the GMT in the 58 case. On the list are Vintage Wittnauer, Vintage Breitling, Doxa x2 300t and 600t, Vintage Enicar, SM300, etc, etc.

or the nuclear option would be a SD4k

Man 😳 those are astonishing pieces!! 🤝 the speedmaster is my grail, but I don’t think I will ever have the money to buy one.
For the other, I absolutely recommend you the Doxa Sub300t 🤯 superb timepiece and iconic

The sneak preview via sketches looks even nicer, they seem to be switching to the C60/C63 hour hand. I think a unified hand style makes sense, and is in line with what the big brands do.

Definitely!

For me, it’s these 3;

Speedy pro with the new caliber.

Cartier tank de must (lemon dial).

Pre bond seamaster.

Just going to keep saving and which ever comes up first at the right price, I think I’ll pull the trigger!

I would love to add a Bulova Mil Ships to my collection by the end of the year.

Yes, I was torn between the Mil Ships and the special edition Lunar Pilot, but I already have a different Lunar Pilot, so I would rather add the Mil Ships.

·

My goal for 2022 is to streamline my collection and find new homes for the watches that don’t get any wrist time.

·

Excellent timepieces man! What about a rootbeer? It’s my favorite one 😂

Totally agree, and to me the limited LP is not that beauty compared to the “normal” one

It is nice, but not different enough to justify almost doubling the price. I would rather even buy the regular Mil Ships with the Miyota 9000 series movement than pay double the price on a Lunar Pilot.

Very difficult question.  So many lovely pieces and such a limited budget.

If I find a decent sum in the year either a Grand Seiko Shunbun or the Cartier Santos with the black face and bezel.  Similar price levels but seem to have quite different vibes for the everyday type watch.

If I cannot stretch that far there are some interesting things at the more affordable level.

Jody's review of the "beast", a big and crazy diver's watch at a reasonable cost

Or look for an interesting micro brand with a tiffany blue dial.

What do you thing about the GS vs Cartier debate?

Damn.  Just had a drunken eBay bid on the beast win.  Photos in due course when received

How big is your wrist, Candide? I like the bracelet version of the Lunar Pilot and I’m not afraid of a bigger watch, but I’m afraid my 7” wrists won’t cut it.

that sounds pretty hard to do 😂

Just offer her the opportunity to purchase some jewellery of equal value, and the problem is solved - except for the money of course 😀

·

Mine is a JLC triple date moon phase. Im lazer focused on calendar complications right now. There is a few that are closer to my budget but thats the goal. Thanks all. I am digging this sight

·

I've been mulling this over in my head and my mind is now made up that for me 2022 is the year of Cartier. Hopefully will have one by the end of the year if I can resist other temptations and save my pennies 🤞 Currently still researching, so either a Tank or Santos.

·

2022 goal is not to buy any more watches, have already bought 3 this year and its only February 🤣

·

Not much, just got a Longines conquest that I'm enjoying and I need to get my son a graduation watch.  He's just starting so I'm thinking the Tissot powermatic..a do it all.

·

I am hoping to pick up a Seiko SLA049. I have never actually owned a Seiko diver, but I am absolutely crushing on this watch. Now just need to decide which watches to sell in order to fund it

·

A rolex sub, i retired last june and this will be my retirement gift to myself

·

Not to go to jail.

Thoughts and prayerz

·

My list is everchanging but right now it consists of -

Cartier Tank Solar - This watch simply intrigues me.  The Tank aesthetic with the solar battery just seems so cool.  This would be for my wife, but I may sneak it into the rotation here and there.

Tudor FXD - I have the black Pelagos but just love this watch.  I am hoping that once they become more readily available I will get the call or find one lightly used.

DOXA Sub 300 - Just because I need some orange in my life.

·

Already picked up two great pieces this year, but hoping to slow down this year. However, it is my 25th anniversary at work, so I figure I will finally add a 2T DJ to celebrate, just need to decide on the config for my AD.
