This is what Rolex was meant to be!

Found the paperwork of my three generations old Rolex Date -talking of small watches!-

Apart from the Oyster Perpetual branding, the best part of it is at the end in red which reads:

”Remove this card and base and you will have a little box for your cigarettes”

Brilliant!

What do you love most about vintage Rolexes?

Snapshot of time!

Vintage Rolex are nostalgic and timeless at the same time. 🤌🏼

·

What's more impressive is that due to the legacy of the Roman empire I'm able to read and understand most of the text on this card despite being originally French.

That's a very pretty watch you have there!

A time when they made timeless classics. Why did Rolex change that ?

·

That's what a watch should look like.

Vintage Rolexes are amazing, the quality is outstanding, I have never experienced a vintage watch that is as robust as my DJ 1603:

And I keep the box too! The "cigarettes" box 😂

I think their product is the same, with all the technology they can add. The way they are marketing them is what’s questionable I think…

Luckily my family has a surplus of inherited cigarette boxes, that I only recently figured out the original  purpose. So I am spared going off to bid on an old Rolex box to pretend that I'll stockpile smokes in it one day. However, I am impressed by the history of packaging with repurposing in mind.
