Green Dial watch suggestions

As winter fast approaches here in Australia I am in search of a green dial watch that isn't crazy money. It must be an everyday wear. Nothing bright and blingy. Up to 40mm. Nothing with an integrated bracelet (eg.PRX) as I want to wear it with nice straps. Some of the contenders are pictured.

ORIS. For me, the clear winner.

No better daily wearer than the Hamilton Khaki Auto Titanium. Perfect size, unassuming and understated, can be dressed up or down, with the lightness and strength of titanium so you don’t have to worry about it getting beat up like the others. Second choice would be the Alpinist cause it’s THE Alpinist.

I have never ever ever had even the slightest inkling of interest in any IWC… until I saw that Mark XX in green at an AD recently.

Nothing else whatsoever in the IWC catalogue interests me in any way whatsoever. And, yet, somehow, they nailed it with that watch. The blue Mark XX?

But that green one? Chef’s kiss!

The Alpinist rocks!

And might I just show you a picture of something you don’t want (PRX) with a nice strap?

Of course, it’s all a matter of personal taste but this combo, to me, looks amazing.

OP36. Really isn’t anything better for a daily wear.

Great great choices. Mark XX is amazing, hard to get the green dial b/c it’s boutique only but great watch. Has quick exchange bracelet too so good for that. The GS is a fantastic watch but definitely harder to mess with the bracelet on. The high beat gmt is awesome tho.

The three other options are hard to compare for me just b/c of the price differences but I would choose the Oris pointer date.

Honestly these are all kick ass watches you literally cannot go wrong

·

IWC or Alpinist, depending on $ limitation. GS is best watch but not for straps changes

·

I saw Oris and Hamilton in person. Oris was beautiful. Hamilton’s green is a bit pale for my taste.

I have Seamaster Seaweed and I love the green. 42mm though. (Feels smaller than 42mm on wrist.)

I also saw Breitling Premier Pistachio and it is lovely.

Farer has some green ones which look good although I haven’t seen them in metal.

Many here have lovely green watches💚

Looks great. I just want options for leather strap and NATO straps. I have the mint green PRX quartz 40mm.

I had the black SMP for a couple of years. I think the green is an amazing colour. Such a great watch.

I saw this diver watch made by Millar Watches and this green one may get your attention. I don't know what your budget may be, but though it may of interest to you. Looks great to me.

Grand Seiko. Go look at it in person to believe it.

Yeah, I still don't get IWC at all. Maybe I need to see them in person or something.

Yeah, totally. ZERO interest in IWC. Every time a YT video comes up, I would skip it, meanwhile I'd literally consume ANY watch content, even if presented by Barney the Dinosaur. But... this was the first time I've ever gone into an IWC AD, and tried the watches on wrist. While none of them excite me in terms of design, the finishing is immaculate, the bracelets are next level, and the green dial on that Mark XX was exquisite. So much so that I would take the green Mark XX over that GS SBGJ251!

Hmmm... Maybe the IWC bracelet is the first Swiss bracelet that I would actually like? Maybe even better than GS bracelets???

Undeniably GS GMT

I have a blue Mark XVIII

I really like IWC, at after market prices. I hope to add an XVIII Le Petite Prince when they get back to $3k.

·

Trish, I am going to go GS and then go indie with Horage:

SBGH 271. The fancier Alpinist with a great hi-beat movement. Looks infinitely better in person.

SeaQ reed green ... sell some others ;)

The GS all day everyday. I removed the bracelet and never looked back, although the one I own is blue.

Hands down the Alpinist for me … 🤙

·

the IWC has a killer dial man, see it in person because it deserve it. Of course the Grand seiko is a good contender and the other 3 a bit less because the price point leaves a big gap beetween them. I would say that depends on the activities you are going to do with them.

·

Baby alpinist in green worth considering too. It's just around 700😊

·

I really like the Nomos Club Sport.

another vote for the IWC. killer dial and on a timeless pilot, can't go wrong

·

Get the Hamilton

·

GO Panomatic Lunar

For me, the Hamilton wins by a long shot. Best of luck with your decision!

·

What about this one for less than 60$ 😬
