[IWOTD] Interesting Watch of the Day #4 - Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Square Wheel

At 43mm, this Maurice Lacroix features gears usually hidden or seen from the case back on the front of the watch on top of the dial. But that's not all...both gears have transformed into unconventional shapes to fill the negative space and to indicate running seconds. The beauty is in the way the teeth come together and separate without grinding. As described by Watchfinder in this video: "yet from the chaos, as the gears turn, comes elegance, as the moment the two look about ready to jam arrives … and passes, as smooth and refined as you like"

That is pretty cool, and if it were priced reasonably enough, I'd probably want to pick one up purely for the novelty of it. I did a quick search to try to find the price, but all I could find was pricing for their similar retrograde model, which appears to have an MSRP of $7,450 USD. It's cool, but it's not $7K cool.

I have this watch with the black dial. I love it. Very cool.
