Watches in the real world...

On Friday, during a freshers event at uni, I was looking round to see whether people were wearing watches. Well, there were a few smart watches, some analogue watches and dress watches I could not identify. Two watches were Emporio Armani models. Doh.

Today I got a haircut, and noticed that my hairdresser wore a Certina DS action.  Go figure.

Talked to another person in my field last week and got to see his bronze Baltic. We discussed oil filled watches. I never would have taken him for a watch guy.

Neighbor of mine is a total stealth wealth guy.  Lives in a 900 square foot home, because he recently got divorced, and it's one of the 10 houses he and his ex-wife own in the neighborhood.  Also owns one of these, amongst his collection of classic American muscle cars...

I had a pretty decent watch week (debating putting together a post) but the highlight was seeing this, a Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope.

I see people wearing smart watches more often than anything else these days when I'm out and about so I take notice when I spot something that isn't an Apple Watch, Fitbit, etc.

As popular as dive watches are in the enthusiast community, I really don't see them that often in the wild. I spotted someone wearing an Omega Seamaster the other day and that got me pretty excited. It was the first high end Swiss watch that I had seen outside of an AD setting in a long time. Years, easily.
