I bought a Casio B640W on ebay and...

...it turned out to be fake.

Unboxing revealed that the display of the supposedly new watch already came scratched. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Worse, it apparently is a fake. If one cycles through the modes the 2nd mode is stopwatch (it is supposed to be alarm), the timer function is missing altogether, and the functionality of the sunken-in pusher differs. In particular, using that does not get you into time adjustment, instead you have to cycle through all modes till you hit blinking seconds, and then engage the sunken pusher.

Moreover, there is a youtube video of someone comparing the genuine article with two fakes, and the module of my watch seems the same as the fake's in the video. Bummer๐Ÿ’ธ

Just thought I share this experience.

Only 2 pushers or is the third one hidden?

third one is hidden by the angle (the backlight one).

I got a fake 640 off eBay too. But I made a gag watch and a desk clock out of it.ย

I have come to suspect my AQ230 "light tank" is a fake.

Some good has come out of it. In the process of blackening the shiny hands with a felt-tip pen to aid legibility, I slipped up and put some ink where I didn't want it. The fresh ink came off with some IPA and a cotton bud, as did some paint on the dial. Armed with the knowledge that IPA will take printed paint off a metallic surfaced dial, I removed the red star from the dial of my Komandirskie!
