I really have spent in the 100-200 range and I have to say that of the straps that I have, I find that they work more often than my more affordable straps. I gravitate to them a lot more. They are nicer on the eye, they are nicer on the wrist. But given a price bracket that I comfortably buy, it's going to be from 50-100 dollars if I had to choose one. It's hard enough to find the right strap, it sucks to put out a larger amount of money only for it to fall flat.

If I'm spending my money on a rubber or nylon strap, I would not spend above $50.

For leather, I'm willing to spend up to $100. It really depends on the quality and finish of the leather, also the craftsmanship that goes into making the strap. If it is some exotic leather, then I wouldn't mind the extra cost.

I'm on the 10-50 spectrum. I think there is a question of proportions too. The average price range for my watches is 100-500€, so it's quite logical for me to invest around 10% of the price to have few straps options to play with.

I discovered Barton about two years ago and it completely fills my need and expectations, so I don't really look forward, except if I find a new bra'd or model that I fall in love for.

If I’m buying a rubber or leather strap, in my experience it’s worth it to pay more (typically at least $50) in order to get something that’s both comfortable and resilient. If I’m buying a Nato, I never spend more than $25, because there‘s no reason to. Archer straps in particular are surprisingly good, especially considering that you can often get them for around $15.
