Seiko Bullhead. Are you a fan of this iconic design?

First introduced in the 1970s, the Seiko Bullhead 6138 quickly became a fan favorite for its distinctive design and reliable performance. The watch features a bold and unique case shape, with the chronograph pushers located on the top of the case rather than the sides. This configuration earned it the nickname "Bullhead" among collectors. But the Seiko Bullhead 6138 is more than just a visually striking watch. It is powered by Seiko's reliable and accurate 6138 movement, which features a column wheel and vertical clutch system for precise and smooth chronograph operation. The movement also has a quickset day/date function and a 45-hour power reserve. The Seiko Bullhead 6138 is available in a variety of dial colors, but our favorite is this brown variant which pairs fantastically with a wide variety of leather straps. Our favorite combo is definitely with this Corfam Style Racing Chocolate Brown leather strap.

It is most definitely of its period. For me personally I find the case depth to large and unwieldy, and the subdials are also too large. I agree 100% that it is a perfect match with that strap though!

I'd wear it. 👌

very heavy watch. in the photo its leaving a mark on your wrist. with a bracelet i do not think it would be wearable. Points for being Seiko though.

One of my favs...been angry at myself for selling it.

But it always sat 'high' on my wrist and I didnt like it.

I cant decide to get another Bullhead or going for the Kakume model

Still pretty smitten with mine. No doubt it's chunky but a reassuring heft for me rather than being unwieldy.

Love it, especially the color combo pictured. It is also interesting to point out that the 6138 is amongst the first automatic chronograph movements ever produced.

I laughed when Jody from JOMW said this was a "unique" design that the Chinese came up with...I pointed him back to the Seiko Bullhead and he tried to say they weren't the same...really????
