Hello, my name is Hector and I am a Casio addict...

The title says it all. I have a real issue with buying Casio watches! I include GShock as part of this.

Why you say? I'm sure I don't have to explain, but I will in case you're one of a million that knows little about Casio.

In a few words, Casio just doesn't have many downsides when it comes to watches. They are dependable, generally affordable and have enough designs to cater to just about anyone. No matter the occasion, dress, or budget you will be able to find a Casio to fit the needs.

I guess this is why I love them so much. I am obsessed with practical design. Which is ironic, since owning so many watches is anything but practical, but it is fun!

That said, my tendencies are towards the "classic" designs. I don't own many oddballs which some people love. In particular, the Casioak is my top fav. Here's a dedicated case of them:

The title pics show my classic watches, but I also categorize them a bit. I have my survival watch trio here:

Image

What am I surviving exactly? A tough day of snow shoveling or lawn cutting. But hey if the zombies make an appearance one of these should do the trick too.

Lastly there are the ones I keep in their case. Really only two, but they are the semi special ones:

I'm sure there are others with a bigger problem than I. But I definitely can say I have a large collection of these. And the ultimate proof? I have yet another on the way 😬 That's right, a brand new, green dial datejust homage Casio has. As if I really needed more...

Addiction? I beg to differ. An addiction implies overconsumption, but there can't be an overconsumption of Casio.

·

As you say, there are not many downsides to Casio watches. Of course, affordability is a huge plus. Their models that feature resin cases/bands are also very light in weight, making them very comfortable to wear. My personal favorites are the G-Shock DW-5600, A700W, and several of the Casioak models.

I only got these...

And I see you have the gray display W800 😎

I love my Casio W800! I wear it to my labor intensive job every weekday. Gives you the robustness of a G-Shock without the bulk.

Wow that's neat. Pretty much there entire "Oak" forest is here. More power to you

Can't say I blame you one bit! I am very much falling down that rabbit hole myself 🤣 notice that I am dragging my wife down with me... Haha.

Two classics, can't go wrong!

I opted for the A168 as you can see. That was actually a very desirable watch in the 80s. I was a child, but all the cool adult dad's had one. It was modern and still had the steel look. The A700W is also one of those. Just can't beat these old school hair pullers.

Cool unique pics you have there! I used to also have the negative display W800 actually but traded it for the square face negative display. Gave the old W800 to my brother in law. He wears it every day now.

I made this exact comment to a guy on here that took the external case off his square face gshock. I think he's still rocking the 'naked' look, but for my taste the W800 is one that doesn't get enough credit.

I do love the A700W, but the hair puller (bracelet), no. I swapped it out for a resin band, and it's much nicer. 😀

My Lady has like 6 or 7 G-Shocks in her collection. And I regularly steal those to wear to work also 😉

What is that super Illuminator?? Never seen that!

It's the wv200a waveceptor. I've probably have had it for at least 15 years now. It is radio controlled time. Now it's called multi ban 6. Even after all these years, I think it still looks good.

·

"Hi, Hector" I believe is the appropriate response. Casio has so many I want, I can fill a watchbox with just Casios.

·

I wanna get a A168, what you guys think?

Cannot go wrong with an A168.

How much does it cost?

How much does it cost?

Depends on your geography. A168 is like a $40 USD watch normally.
