Was going to suggest this Oris Big Crown as an alternative with the coin edge bezel, etc. But it seems like this Kurono isn't too far off price wise, surprisingly.

My friend @lwtmay has been talking me into buying this, but I need to give this a hard think exactly because I already have an Oris Pointer Date (edit: and it is in green!)
How is a kurono comparable to any GS? Why are you buying into hype? Are you trying to be an alternative finance bro? “Look at me, i dont have a submariner, but look at me”
Anyone purchases the watch, if so, did it meet all your expectations? I was thinking about it for weeks but didn't take the plunge. I already had a green field watch and would have been to similar to the watch I already own. I love Kurono watches as I own the Toki it came around at the time when I was looking for a salmon dial and I love the aesthetics of the art deco look.
Artfully roasted. Yes, as you focus on it, imagine yourself thinking "It's a chrono... That's it. It tells time." No stopwatch. You'll be happy about the mystical forest look, I bet, but not about the fact that you can't time spaceship rocket firing and such, should it ever come to that.
estethically speaking this reminded me of hanhart pioneer a lot
If you insist... the date wheel doesn't match in color or font, and who wants a black leather band?
Don't buy that. The Asian writing just over the words Bunkyo Tokyo says "Loser"
It really doesn't but you said to try to talk you out of it.

What a beauty.
Did I help?
You may have your point sir, but since they use a Miyota movement inside, that limits what they can do with the dial design

Best way to get turned off a watch for me is to show my friends. “What is Kurono Tokyo? Never heard of them. And why is it the same colour as bile?”
Do it .
I wouldn't talk you out of it, it's beautiful.
How will you know what month it is without a subdial on your watch that tells you?

Ouch!😹

Hey, what‘s wrong with the black band? That would go well with my knee high black socks I like to wear with my khaki cargo shorts!
Too much for a Miyota movement, buy a Swiss or German watch for that price. Problem solved 👍
ok since you asked nicely;

The best way to steer oneself away from Kurono is focussing on the movement and to keep telling yourself that it's just a Miyota.
Everything else about it is bang on. Just look at those mouthwatering numerals...
Ok, just look at that ugly AF non-matching date window. That should do it. You're welcome! 😀
I would love to say Kurono is full of hype but when you look at IWC and their ETA movements it isnt that far off except that IWC has a long heritage.
That said Hajime could probably design his own movement but it would increase the price of their timepiece as well as maintenance cost.
In the end it's all about the buyer.
Below are movement care extracted from the website.
*Refrain from changing the month when the windowed date display is showing the 31st.
*Refrain from changing the day-of-the-week (Mon-Sun) and the windowed date display when the time is between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
If you have a good habit when setting the watch, then go ahead because it does have a beautiful dial.
