saphire sandwich because more scratch ressistant and beautiful display caseback
I usually prefers exhibition case back because of the ability to view and appreciate the movement. But in this case, for the moonwatch, I prefer the solid caseback which is closer to representing the actual moonwatch that landed on the moon.
Sapphire, it's better in every way.

Hesalite and solid caseback, just like Uncle Buzz’s Speedy. 😂👌
Hesalite - because I prefer the shape and warmth; and I really dislike the 'milky ring' of a sapphire crsytal.
And I pretty much never look at the back of my watches, in the same way I don't have a glass bonnet/hood on my car - I understand and appreciate the engineering behind it without having to constantly stare at it.

My other ("proper") hobby is medieval archery. These 'incandescent bulb' things sound crazy hi-tech! :-)
