I would recommend Sinn U50.  I have really great experience with it so far.  There are no scratches anywhere due to the hardened case.  It keeps very good time too, as Sinn has regulated the movements carefully.  It is simply a very sturdy tool watch with great water resistance.  Sinn offers bracelet, rubber strap and leather strap for this watch.

Big fan of the U50! I only worry about its ability to adapt to more formal settings ie going into the office.

They have a few leather straps to go with U50, but I'm not sure how formal it will look.

I’d choose the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra

I’d choose the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra

Fantastic choice! Both the 38mm & 41mm are great options.

You cant go wrong with the Yachtmaster, unless that bezel does scratch as bad as ive heard

·

On a budget I'd go with a Seiko SARB035 but without a budget I'd also pick the Omega Aqua Terra.

Depending on your daily style this could be a great choice!

I totally agree, great picks sir! The SARB does keep creeping up there in price!

Very glad to see another U50 fan here!  Cheers :)

The Omega Aqua Terra is hard to beat IMHO for GADA - especially the Skyfall in 38.5mm

Awesome choice! The AT is a great watch, especially at that size!

Two Grand Seikos this year depleted the account a bit, but hoping to have a U50 in the collection in the coming months.

Seems to be a popular opinion!

Outside choice, deliberately provocative given some of the choices put on here, but the Tag Heuer Kirium. I have paired this up with most combos (rubber and metal strap), and seems to work well due to its mercurial shape and finish, and to me it’s a true “can wear with anything” type watch.

Super 90's I love it!

Chiming in late, but I'd say I have one GADA watch and that is what I consider to be Grand Seiko's version of the Rolex Explorer. The SBGX261. 37mm, very much an oyster style case, inky black dial with striking silver indices, 100m water resistance and a quartz movement that can more than handle a bit of knocking around. Can be dressed up or put on a nato to go for a hike, or to swim!

Cold not agree more. I went to try one on in person and actually had the exact same thoughts! This watch is amazing.

This works for me

You really can't go wrong with a 556. I've got a 556 IM (the brown dialled version with applied indices) and it truly goes with every outfit and every occasion. The term GADA was made for the 556 imo.

I suppose we all have at least a few in mind / collection that fit into this criteria. Looks like no one has come up with this yet.

Gorgeous. I wouldn't necessarily call it a GADA watch, but it's a total grail for me. Absolutely love everything that Muhle are about.

I really wanted to say Hamilton Khaki Field and Omega Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch… Realistically, though, I wouldn’t take those to the beach.

For one watch it would be the GS GMT quartz. However I am way far away from having only one, so probably not the smartest commenter here.

·

Ooh my...it's became common sense....the budget seiko to the AT/daydate

·

For me it would be the omega seamaster 300 professional because it looks good, you can dive with it (if you're into that), wear it with a suit, casually, or in your pjs. It also is highly resistant to magnetism, metas certified, worn by 007 and one of my favorite actors of all time Pierce Brosnan, etc. etc. etc.

there is no such thing as a “one watch collection”

stop this non sense already

first of all a collection constitutes more than 1 item

second a watch “collector” probably has way more than 1 watch

just stop it
