New partnership: what do you expect?

Option A: A new seamster with a System51 movement and 238 new color combinations (same price, obviously).

Option B: A new colorful plastic piece with the snoopy (off course) and the  co-axial escapement movement (same   price of the aforementioned colorful seamaster).

They took out a full-sized ad in the main section of the WSJ for this. Whatever this collaboration is, it can't be inexpensive.

I willing to be pleasantry surprised but think no good will come out of this collaboration, especially on the Omega side.

It’s not really a partnership - big daddy Swatch Group has obviously said they have to play together for the Easter Holidays.

I‘ll call it - a series of solar system inspired  swatches with something Omega-y in the movement. Similarly priced to the Sistem51, limited edition, sold out by the 27th and on eBay for double the price.

My guess is an Omega Seamaster or Speedmaster with playful Swatch design elements. Kind of like the Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein. That would be kinda cool to see….

A plastic cased Omega with snoopy on the dial that is water resistant to 5 miles.

It will cost a thousand million dollars and there will be a 5 year wait.

This phrasing from the GQUK article (https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/watches/article/omega-swatch-collab-tease-2022/amp) caught my eye: "Perhaps the most intriguing thing about this partnership for you to know is that it’s highly unlikely to leave you either unimpressed or empty-handed."

Sounds like it's not an LE, a gimmick, or "astronomically" over-priced.

I am expecting a Swatch watch with an Omega design. Not sure they would make such a big deal about incorporating the co-axial movement in the watches. I say this because of the amount of promotion they've been slowly rolling out. I doubt they would do all this for a movement that only watch nerds would care for.

I'm hoping for a Swatch Speedmaster considering the incorporation of space into their marketing. Swatch and Peanuts have very recently come out with their own collaboration so not expecting anything Snoopy related.

Either way interesting to see brands within the same holding group collab together.

The Sistem51 movement sounds awesome.  I mean, super cheap, 90 hours of power reserve, in a fun Swatch watch?  That's great!

I'm actually browsing their watches now.  Haven't owned a Swatch since the 80's!

I feel like it will be a swatch collection made with omega's pictures of the moon and planet's. Hopefully below 500.

I wish it's something like the tissot prx: a no brainer for the price.

@thewatchcomedian thanks!! I didn't know about this! If Omega and Swatch are gonna release a watch under the Swatch brand and priced as a Swatch, I'll buy it. I don't care how quick people are gonna buy it, I'll be quicker. 😂

If you all noticed from the trailer, there are different color variations and hues in reference to the Speedmaster case.

Yellow, Baby Blue, pink ect... I predict a playful Speedmaster with ETA movement at a more affordable price around the $2500 range. A summer watch to strike up conversation. It will also be a limited edition. Probably 5000 pieces 😅.

Someone from a Facebook group of mine said they had passed by a Swatch store and asked about it. All he heard was that few stores were going to sell them and there was limited stock.

I hope the people working there were wrong.

I had a feeling it would be this after seeing the different colors and different planets being mentioned. From the Time and Tide trailer seems like they show each watch colorway with it's corresponding planet.
