How I pick watches for travel

My brain kept coming back to a comment I posted on here a month ago about how to pick watches for travel, so I wrote up my thoughts in a blog post. The key points:

  • Don't bring anything you'd be heartbroken to lose or have stolen.
  • Follow the "sneakers, sandals, heels" rule: one GADA, one rough-and-tumble, and one dress watch.

Makes good sense, my GADA is my "rough-and-tumble", so I bring a quartz for accuracy and simplicity.

Great article Theresa - I have just taken one watch on trips lately (mostly involving pools / sea) and my Unimatic has served the purpose brilliantly (three straps though!!!) Love this watch (pic from their website). It certainly fits with your first and very important rule, and two of the three in your second - not quite a dress watch, although I have a leather single pass on the way.
