Discounts for Cartier (Santos De Cartier) ?

I'm really curious as to what sort of discount levels can be realistically obtained these days for Cartier watches, specifically the large Santos De Cartier.

When I first became interested in the Santos De Cartier (in spring of 2021) they were extremely difficult to find at retail, and appeared to be trading at a slight premium in the secondary market.  Although there does still appear to be a fairly robust demand for these watches,  it appears that they are becoming more readily available at retail, which I suspect is a sign that the initial surge in demand is being satisfied. Based on that, I would expect secondary market prices to start falling, just as they have for other watches that were initially difficult to obtain, such as the Tudor BB58.

Knowing that discount levels which may have been obtainable 3 or 4 years ago are a thing of the past, I'm hoping that someone can offer me some guidance on the level of discount that I could reasonably expect to get for this Cartier model, in order to make it a win-win for both the AD and I.

I’ll be the first to admit I am not great at haggling. I bought a medium santos about 2 months ago, and they wouldn’t budge on the retail price, but I was able to get them to throw in a black alligator strap (that I would have otherwise bought hesitantly for their $400 asking price). I think some places you might be able to get 5-10% off, but I wouldn’t expect more than that

tbh I would not expect any penny discount. The large model is for sure the less demanded however it is a fast mover. The AD has no need to give you a discount, it will be anyway sold in the next 2 weeks. I got for my medium in January 2020 12% off, but my AD said in December on a Cartier event that nowadays there is absolutely no discounts. If you have a great relationship with your AD they maybe give you personally a discount. As @Badgerracer wrote, you can get with some negotiation something on top.

@Pascal , @Badgerracer  FWIW, I was able to get a small discount (approx 6%) from an AD (that I didn't have any previous history with).

I ended up with the WSSA0037 (Large with ADLC bezel). It just arrived today, and I'm thrilled with it.

Just received my santos medium (WSSA0029) on Tuesday, purchased from an AD online. I put 20% down mid-January, paid the balance Monday, received the watch the following day. Not sure if this is standard but they also surprised me with a detailing kit and travel case.

I received a $600 discount and was not charged sales tax. In total for me, this is just shy of $1000 savings over ordering direct from Cartier. Happy to share if you have any questions but do not want to advertise here :)
