Currently my favourites

Hi everyone! I'm new in this hobby (lifestyle?), but I was lucky that in the begining I get two truly beautiful and quality vintage watches. So I'd like to tell you the story of my absolute favourite watches.

When I started to think about collecting, first I started at my parents house. As I remember they never had close relation to watches, but I hoped I could find something from my late grandfathers. Instead of that, after a long quest in the basement (which was full of everything), I found this little Roamer Elegant from the mid-70s. It belonged to the late husband of my mother's cousin. The watch was full of dirt and the chrystal was broken. But the movement worked perfectly.

At this point I didn't know any good watchmaker (I was a full beginner). I went to two different ones but both denied to deal with my dirty broken watch. So I just put it to my watchbox for a while.

Then, a month later, I came across with a Roamer Searock Automatic (70s). I instantly felt that I need that watch. It looked interestingly vivid, the condition was almost perfect, and it was a Roamer as my Elegant. So after a short hesitation I purchased it - this was the first time I bought a watch. After I get it I realized that the movement needed a service, but I was still happy with the watch.

Fortunately last December an old watchmaker serviced the two Roamers for me (I'm so lucky to found him, he is a true expert) and I am so proud to wear them.

Now I have more beautiful vintage watches (it's another story) but I think these two watches and vintage Roamers in general will always be special for me. I still feel regret not to buy a stunning Stingray when I had the chance (this black dial model: Vintage Roamer Watch Site )

I'm glad you read this and good to be here on WatchCrunch.

Thank you! Even I'm a bit nervous when I need to use my English I hope I could join the discussions here, learn more and find nice watches to know.

Your English is great, certainly better than I can do in any language but English. You should just jump into any conversation that interests you, I think you’ll find people very welcoming.

Glad to have you with us, so pleased you got those watches serviced, lovely things and a great brand. I'm into those sorts of watches, I've not got a Roamer yet but will do soon, thanks for sharing.
